MB High School(Marathi Medium)

The school was established in 1962, to cater to the basic need of education of the children of lower middle class. Today, the number of students has soared from mere 50 in the beginning, to 1050, still coming mostly from the same stratum of the society. The school celebrates its Golden Jubilee this year in 2011-2012. During these 50 years the school has reached the pinnacle of success step by step. The school, with the valuable support of Mahila Sangh, precious donors and well wishers continues to undertake many projects and organise co-curricular and extracurricular activities for students.

The school has earned the reputation of achieving more than 99% result almost every year. 2011 was no exception 99.36% of the students passed with flying colours. 13 students secured more than 90%.


  1. The school has very enthusiastic teams for Volley ball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and also Lezim.
  2. Summer camps are organized.
  3. Training by special coaches is given.
  4. Students are selected for the State level team.
  5. Students also participate in Chess, Judo Karate.

The school insists that students extend a helping hand towards the needy and deprived section of society. Hence every year, though small, funds are raised for Vatslya Trust & Vanvasi Kalyan Aashram.

The school plays an important role in inculcating good values. Volunteers from Swami Vivekanand Pratishthan hold interactive sessions for the children aged between 11-13 years.

Different Clubs

Through out the year the school buzzes with different activities like the:

A.Nature Club And Eco Club:- To create awareness about environment these clubs are formed every year. Visits are arranged to BNHS or Maharashtra Nature Park. Experts are invited to speak on various topics on nature. Festival of Aashadhi Ekadashi is celebrated with Vriksha Dindi.

B.Science Club:- To develop scientific attitude among the students science club organizes many activities. The members of this club visit Nehru Science Centre. The school also organizes a science exhibition every year.

C.Consumer Club:- Volunteers of Mumbai Grahak Panchayat come to school every year to conduct various activities for this club. Approximately 55 students of Std. VIII are members of this club. Different aspects of consumer movement are discussed through various lectures or competition field visits are also arranged.

D. Marathi Literature Club:- Many innovative programmes and contests are arranged throughout the year for students.

E. Art Club:- Hobby classes and workshops are conducted for the students. Warli painting, Madhubani painting, Glass painting etc.

Over the years the school has also contributed to many doctors, engineers, educators, artists, bankers and businessmen to the society.
